Chemical Fertilizer Complex, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
At the 2007 World Economic Forum in Jordan, VCBank signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a pioneering joint venture agreement with Jordan Arab Fertilisers and Chemicals Company (JAPC) and Jordan Phosphates Mines Company (JPMC).
Under the agreement, VCBank and its JV partners will establish a world class, fully integrated chemical fertiliser complex in the White Valley region of southern Jordan. The complex will draw upon the rich mineral resources and the quality of human capital that are available in Jordan, in order to meet growing regional demand for fertiliser products. Following completion, which is expected within two years, the complex will market its products to local, neighbouring and international customers.
The agreement underlines the commitment of VCBank to contribute to the growth of regional economies, and illustrates the growing cooperation between Jordan and GCC countries such as Bahrain in creating an attractive investment environment for foreign investors.
